What this tool extracts
This tool retrieves the HTML source of a webpage and strips away markup, scripts, and styles to return the readable text content. The result is a plain-text view of what a visitor would see in the main content areas, without navigation labels, code, or formatting tags.
Useful applications
- Content review. Quickly scan the text of a page without visual distractions or layout elements.
- Copy checking. Verify what text is actually present in the HTML, including content that may be hidden or visually obscured.
- Translation preparation. Obtain a clean text version of a page before translating or summarizing it.
- Research and archiving. Save the textual content of a page for reference.
How to interpret the output
The extracted text reflects the HTML that was served at the time of the request. Dynamically loaded content that appears only after JavaScript execution may not be included. Navigation, footers, and sidebars may appear alongside the main content, depending on how the page is structured. Formatting such as headings and lists is flattened into plain text, so the visual hierarchy is lost in the extraction.
Limitations
This tool works on a single webpage and returns the text present in the server response. It does not render JavaScript-heavy pages, follow links, or crawl a site. Pages that block automated requests may not be accessible. The extracted text is not a complete representation of the user experience, because it omits visual design, interactive elements, and media. Use it as a convenience for reading and analysis, not as a substitute for viewing the page in a browser.
